Hey bookworms, Welcome back to MYABL! Today, I am happy to reveal the cover of a upcoming YA read, Spark by author Holly Schindler! Check it out! All of the juicy details about this novel, as well as the author, are posted below. Keep reading for more. SPARK comes out next year (May 2016)! Make sure you add it to your Goodreads if you'd like to read it. Links for Goodreads and pre-orders are at the end of this post. I'm excited because it has the most amazing elements of Romeo and Juliet wound into it's blurb. Description: Holly Schindler’s Spark: When the right hearts come to the Avery Theater—at the right time—the magic will return. The Avery will come back from the dead. Or so Quin’s great-grandmother predicted many years ago on Verona, Missouri’s most tragic night, when Nick and Emma, two star-crossed teenage lovers, died on the stage. It was the night that the Avery’s marquee lights went out forever. It sounds like urban legend, but one that high school senior Quin is ...

Admin Love : Mel's Projects

Hey Listers!

Today is the start of admin & blogger interviews, made so we can share the love and show you so awesome places to check out!
We're kicking this off with Melina from Mel's Projects! So, sit back and read on as Mel answers so of my many random questions. :)

Mera:  What sparked your interest in starting a book review page?
Mel: It's not much of a review page but more so a page for talents. It started ages ago when I started collaborating with friends and writing stories and novels, etc together. Then I decided let's make a page (this year) and that's how we got "Mel's Projects."

Mera: I know you have another page started on Facebook. Can you share with us the link and the idea behind the page?
Mel:  I am the founder of 2 pages yes. We have https://www.facebook.com/MelsProjects which is a page for people's talents. We create projects and people and their talents can join in or collaborate. For example; movie-makers, anime artists, authors, musicians. We also use this page to promote and get peoples talents out there and known. At times people will ask for help and we do. Out of this month we've sent many people to Agency's and publishers.
As of this month and maybe next we are hosting a partay where we are promoting, promoting pages, interviewing and hosting giveaways to get people out there and known

My next page is https://www.facebook.com/melinastreasuredungeon . This page is basically my store. It's a literature and media buying, selling and swapping service which aims to connect it's members together via social means. The idea was made because I had all these books that I don't like and thought maybe, I'd find a good owner for them. then it started growing. (Ideas were from both admins Timothy D. Mitchell and myself.)

Mera: What is your favorite book?
Mel: There cannot be a favourite book because mine are a series. Most of you might hear me repeatedly tell you about one series Skulduggery Pleasant series by Derek Landy. They are and will always be my most prized and favourite reads for me. Bit of crime-detective mixed in with many other genres and elemental magic, with a world unseen to the human eyes hahahaha.....I recommend you read it.

Mera: I'll definitely have to check it out. I've actually never heard of it before. What are your favorite hobbies?
Mel: Well of course, there's the reading and writing, who cannot forget the reading and writing. Well, there's my sketches...I have been given the job of drawing peoples tattoos for them and I just love drawing fantasy creatures and/or characters. I absolutely love traveling and camping. Oh, and did I mention I collect things. Oh yes, well let me name a few examples; there's the dress collection, the breakables, the books, the chimes oh and THE BOOKMARKS!! I love me some bookmarks! I've got 3 at the moment but that's a good start to a good collection. Another hobby is go-carting and helping those who need it.

Mera: Coffee or Orange Juice?
Mel: In my opinion, coffee is horrible! I am for the tea...biscuits and tea. I love dunking biscuits in tea, it's my second thing I do when drinking tea. What's my first? Pinky finger stands high and mighty bahahahaha...I've caught myself doing it every time.

Mera: Lol.I drink with my pinky up too! And yes, I do it while drinking coffee, though I love a cup of tea as well. It's the end of the world and you have just enough time to accomplish one last goal. What do you do?
Mel: If it where the end of the world, which hopefully it won't anytime (I don't want to die before my 18th lol) and just had enough time to accomplish one goal. I'd probably go to Scotland, as I've told my bro lol. Do something crazy! Have an 18th bahahah I've always wanted to parade around in costumes just never had the chance. Or I'd finally buy that guinea pig called Rex, if I haven't already bought him. Don't worry, I've got more on my list I just can't name them off the top of my head. XD

Mera:What is your dream job?
Mel: My dream job seems to change at the moment, my dream jobs, are just called jobs. When I was younger I always had this dream of being a veterinarian, Bought everything for it studied hard but things happened and that seemed too far away but then I found this course which could make me go up the ranks to something close-to Veterinarian, so that's still on the list. At the moment, I'm looking for day jobs and am starting to work as a fashion photographer and I'm hopefully, soon, a published author. I'm a published poet slowly branching out to novels and short stories etc. However, I've just started studying hospitality now as too own my own catering business .

Mera: Cool. Who's your favorite musician?
Mel: I have no favourite musician . I like most things but If I had to choose anything it'd be someone with natural talent for me man. I'm sick of listening to music that's edited to the point of just being annoying. Bring on the real singers!!!! Please!

Mera: We love quotes. Share with us your favorite quote ever.
Mel: My favourite quotes, eh? One of them would have to be the one Timothy D. Mitchell (copyrighted and quoted). "We are wannabe's. We both want to be something. Isn't that why we're trying? Some day we will then turn from wannabe's into people who are." It makes sense. There's another I've seen somewhere. "War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth is much worse . A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares about more than his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." (quoted by John Stuart Mill).

Mera: Cool quotes. I'll have to add them to my quote journal! I'll end up my random abundance of questions with this final one. What's the weirdest thing you've ever done?
Mel: One of the weirdest things I've done, boy there are a lot on this list but the weirdest was....when a friend and I were in Gympie, Queensland and saw this guy who looked exactly like Harry Potter (the hair, glasses etc) so we stalked him, or more-so shadowed him for 2 hours before he realized and ran off. Another, no it's not my spelling, though that needs fixing, it was the day I went on a rainbow and glitter faze and attacked everyone at the high school and home. They had glitter everywhere for weeks. Sparkling vampires bahahahahah. Funnest day ever though. One more would be last years sports carnival, I had half my hair dyed red and the other side green. I left the sports carnival early with these bright colours in my hair and mums like lets change your learners from Victorian to Queensland, meaning I had to have a photo with my hair like that bahahahahaha

Mera: Lol, it seems you have done many memorable weird things. Thanks so much for joining us on Mera's YA Book List!

You guys can find Melina on FB at Mel's Projects and also at Melina's Treasure Dungeon. Thanks for coming over to the blogs Listers! Muah!

Happy Reading!

Firstly, let me start off by saying, I wasn't planning on reviewing this novel. With my review pile being so incredibly long, I snuck in Oakes' book as a pleasure read. I mean, here I was drinking out of this mug daily that says, "Caffeine gives me Annorasi powers", eating Ghiradelli...
