Published June 5th 2010 This novel is based around the life of Thomas Clay, a man who has a great life and a huge secret; he can control the way people think, he can change their minds or manipulate their very thought. He doesn’t like using his powers but sometimes he does that causes him to gain some very angry enemies.
This story was very well written, the author is talented and has great writing skills but because it was based on sports it didn’t catch my attention much. The only thing that kept me reading was the complications of Clay’s marriage to a wife that wanted something that her husband never provided for her and she kept her own little secret from her family.
There is also things other than sports involved in the story and that is another reason why this is a good read for sports bookworms. There are twists and mysteries and even conspiracies. There is always something new happening to keep things going and I appreciate that in a story.
This story explains things about football and basketball games and I, being a young girl, didn’t and couldn’t understand what was going on during these scenes. They were well written and described everything so well that people reading this and know their sport would be able to see the game play out clearly; you would even be able to feel the excitement from the crowd that watched the characters play.
The story was a good one and the character Thomas Clay was brought to life on paper. I applaud the author for his excellent writing abilities. This is the perfect story for people who are sports fans, especially American sports, and who enjoy a twist in their stories like the supernatural fact of Clay and his son having the ability to control people’s minds.
